Airplane & Travel

Traveling is complicated enough, let us plan your car seat logistics.

Yay! You have a family vacation planned! Now you're probably wondering how to travel with your car seat. As your local CPST and frequent flyer mom... I'm here to tell you that there are good, better, and best ways of traveling with your car seat. We know the safest way for your child to fly is in their car seat on the aircraft... but we also sympathize with caregivers who have an "in-lap" infant. Either way, we can walk you through the logistics of your choice to protect the integrity of your car seat.

Contact us today for a customized car seat itinerary. We will review your trip plans and discuss the best car seat safety options for you. From Ubering to the airport, baggage checking options, strolling through TSA, aircraft installation and final destination plans... we can cover it all!

*Here are some FAQs to get you started:

- Best practice is to use your car seat on the aircraft. The FAA encourages all passengers under two years of age to use a CRS onboard (faa.gov), aircraft seatbelts do not protect children under 40lbs.

-It is never recommended to rent a car seat or use a car seat from a rental car company

-Booster seats are not allowed to be used on an aircraft per FAA regulation (faa.gov)

-Counter-checking a car seat is not recommended

-Car seats typically must be installed in window seats (although sometimes the middle seat is an option too)

-Baby wearing is not permitted during take-off and taxi. Baby wearing is not recommended on flight because it increases the risk of injury to both the child and the caregiver during turbulence.

-Airlines often accommodate children in car seats by providing free seats if space is available, but the only way to guarantee a seat for your child in their car seat is by purchasing a ticket in advance.
