"Before my son was born, I read the car seat manual and was confident it was installed correctly. I was surprised when I was wheeled out of the hospital, and no one checked to ensure it was safe. I took him to a car seat safety check where I learned, it was, in fact… installed incorrectly.

The guilt I felt as a new mom was overwhelming. I thought I was protecting my son, and realized I increased his risk for injury. I decided to become a Certified Child Passenger Safety Technician to help other local caregivers."

The Buffalo Car Seat Club is a 501c3 organization that promotes car safety checks in Western New York, connects caregivers to local resources, explains proper car seat installation, and encourages best practices for car seat safety.
